JEWELRY WORKSHOPS

July 6th, 2013, 10 AM to 4 PM:  An Artist’s Introduction to Silver Metal Clay with Tamara Culp.

In this intro class, which is a prerequisite for all other metal clay classes, Tamara will teach the basics of working with Silver Metal Clay. Everyone will take at least one piece of pure silver jewelry home that they have created.

What to Bring: your creativity.

Cost:  Supply fee for members and non-members is $50; member tuition is $45; non-member tuition is $55. Total for the day:  Members - $95; Non-Members - $105.

July 13th and 14th, 2013, 10 AM to 4 PM each day:

Building a Better Landscape in Silver Metal Clay with Tamara Culp.

(You must have previous experience in the medium before taking this class. If you do not have prior experience, please sign up for the July 6th intro class.)  This class will focus on learning how to use templates to cut out clay components, join wet and dry layers of clay to create dimensional objects and applying patina to the fine silver in a painterly fashion with the end project being a landscape pendant in Fine Silver.  Tamara will teach how to break a complex task into manageable components specifically as it applies to working with wet and dry clay.

What to Bring: people who sign up for this class will be contacted by the instructor re: creation of a design prior to the class.

Cost: Supply fee for both members and non-members is $75; members tuition fee is $90 for the two-day workshop; non-members tuition fee is $110. Therefore, total cost for this two-day intensive workshop is: Members - $165; non-members - $185.

September 22, 2013, 10 AM to 4 PM:  Rings, Rings, Rings in Silver Metal Clay.

(You must have previous experience in the medium before taking this class. If you do not have prior experience, please sign up for the July 6th intro class.) Tamara will use a new product to crate a precisely sized fine silver ring from metal clay. Your imagination is your limit to form shapes and designs in pliable PMC that will be fired in the kiln and turned into a fine silver ring a traditional silversmith could only dream of making in one day. Additional material may be purchased during the class to make more than one ring. Techniques that will be taught include how to combine metal with metal clay to complete a project.

What to Bring: your creativity.

Cost: Supply fee for both members and non-members is $60; members tuition fee is $45 for the workshop; non-members tuition fee is $55 Therefore, total cost for this ring workshop is: Members - $105; non-members - $115.
