Fire restrictions lifted, Castle Rock Fire and Rescue to continue monitoring conditions

CRFD Fire No Restrictions

Recent rain has improved fire risk conditions in Castle Rock, leading the Town to lift fire restrictions.

Acting on authority granted by Town Council, Town Manager David L. Corliss and Fire and Rescue Chief Art Morales lifted those restrictions.

Activities that are allowed include:

•Building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire, campfire, coal or wood-burning stove, any type of charcoal fueled broiler or open fire of any type in undeveloped areas.

•Smoking in open space areas and undeveloped areas.

•Using explosive material with appropriate permits.

•Welding, or operating acetylene or other similar torch with open flame in wildland areas.

•Fires in constructed, permanent fire pits or fire grates within developed recreation sites, or charcoal barbecues, fire pits, smokers, and chimineas operated on private property away from combustible materials.

•Any Federal, State, or local officer or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.

The Town will continue to monitor conditions and implement restrictions again as necessary. Stay tuned to CRgov.com/FireBans for current information. Inquiries regarding the current status of fire restrictions in Town should be directed to the Fire Chief’s Office, 303-660-1066.
